Wild! Flowers!
Works from 2007-2008 for an exhibition.
These pieces mark a sea-change in my work. The techniques I developed for these pieces have become a permanent part of my esthetic vision. They demarcate the completion of the transition between my previous obsessions with composition and control and my new obsessions with colour and life, to put it as simply as I can.
These pieces were accomplished using cheap, obsolete digital cameras and computers, and one of the lessons for me in it was that the actual gear of photography is now largely irrelevant. The digital tools are mature and fine art can be made with anything that will capture an image.
The work was completed with the participation of the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council.
